rejection:盖帽。restricted area near the basket：禁区内篮框下的小圆圈区域。
restricted free agent：有限制的自由球员；
return of the king：王者再现。
reverse dunk：反手灌篮。
reverse lay-up：反手带球上篮。
reverse roll：反身转进，假装跑到队友前，但中途反身向他身后跑。
reverse:反身的(a)。比如从底线切入后的反身扣篮是reverse dunk。
rhythm：节奏；倾向于个人，特别是个人的动作。
rim：篮框，篮圈。
road game：客场比赛。
road jersey：客队球衣，底色深色。
role players：绿叶球员。
rookie of the year:年度最佳新人。
rookie:新人，即第一年在nba打球的运动员。
rotation defense：轮转防守。
run and jump defense：跃进防守。
run：【名词】连续(的得分)；「小高潮」。其它用法：a good run at play比赛连胜。
run:连续得分。比赛中屏幕上会经常打出某支球队12-0 run in last 4 minutes，就是说这支球队打了个12比0的小高潮。
running screen：跑动掩护。
running：跑步。
rush：急攻。
sacramento kings ：沙加缅度国王队。
salary cap:工资上限。
san antonio spurs ：圣安东尼马刺队。
sandwiched：三明治是两片面包「夹」汉堡、火腿等...，将...「夹」入(两个三分球)之间，两个「夹」字都可以用 sandwich 这个字。路边有背着「夹」在身体的胸前与背后游街做「活动广告牌」的人，叫做 sandwich man。
sank two straight jumpers：连续两次跳投命中。此处sank是「投篮命中」的另一种说法，不是「下沉」。不同于「跳投」（jumper）的投篮方法还有：
schedule：赛程。
scope of training：训练的范畴。
score a basket：投篮得分。
score:得分；scorer得分手。
scoring machine：得分机器。
scoring table：记录台，记分台；
scoring：得分能力。
scouting report：选秀报告。
screen:掩护，同pick。
scrutinized：不是普通的「观看、观察」，而是很仔细地「观看、观察」。
