一．asa（准精算师）资格要求：
在新的体系下，soa要求完成初级教育课程考试（包括四门考试和vee课程）、精算实践基础课程（fap）和准会员职业课程（apc），才能获得准会员资格，也即我们说的准精算师资格。
1.初级教育课程考试（preliminary education examinations）
exam p：概率及相关知识考试，考试时间3小时；
exam mf：金融数理基础，主要是涉及利息理论和金融经济学介绍，考试时间2小时；
exam m：风险模型，主要涉及人寿保险常用模型，总体损失模型，考试时间4小时； 
exam c：风险模型的建立和评价，涉及模型拟合和可信度理论（credibility theory）, 考试时间4小时。
2.vee课程（validated by educational experience）
该课程是针对那些在学校已修过相关课程的人士，他们可以凭课程证明获得学分。课程包括公司财务，经济学和数理统计应用。对于没有在学校学习过相关课程，或者soa不认证你所在学校所提供的课程的人士，仍然可以通过考试来获得相应的vee学分。可密切关注cas提供的考试（transitional exams）
这个考试8月会举行，通过考试的人仍可以得到vee的学分。
3.精算实践基础（fundamentals of actuarial practice）
这部分考试内容分为8个模块，分成两个考试，第一个考试涵盖第1到第5个模块的内容，第二个考试涵盖第6到8个模块的内容，这两个考试与原来考试体系下的course 5和course 6相似。
module 1: role of the professional actuary
module 2: core external forces
module 3: typical actuarial problems
module 4: solutions to selected actuarial problems
module 5: design and pricing of an actuarial solution
module 6: selection of an actuarial design and model
module 7: selection of initial assumptions
module 8: monitoring experience-model and assumptions
4.准会员职业课程（apc）
准会员职业课程（apc）这部分内容与原来考试体系没有差异。 
二．总结：
考试的根本内容没有改变---即原有考试要求的基本概念，定义，定理，公式在新的考试制度之下仍然是考点。只是course1、2、3、4变成了course p、fm、m、c，和vee课程。

三. 考试改革日程
final courses 1 - 4 exams: november 2004 
final course 5 exam: november 2005 
final course 6 exam: may 2006 
final course 8 exam: november 2006 
final course 7 seminar: near the end of 2006 
final pd: executed pd plans will be accepted through the end of june 2007. 
after 6/30/07,the pd component as it currently exists will be 
discontinued. 
the initial offerings of the new components will be as follows: 
preliminary education: may 2005 
fap course modules 1-5: january 2006 
fap course modules 6-8: may 2006 
fsa modules: january 2007 
fsa examinations: may 2007 
fsa capstone module: january 2007
