利用“英语单词倍增定位记忆法字母转换两大基本原则”，先通过“根词”推出词根（及其变体）的形式和意义，然后再加词缀派生单词的方法。
根词：sit坐
由根词sit的词形推出本组词根变体：sit→set→sad→sed→sid→sess
由根词sit的意思推出本组词根意义：表“坐”

sad
saddle n.鞍,车座
解说：sad=sit+-dle后缀→（骑马、车）坐的地方→鞍, 车座
sed
sedate adj.安静的, 稳重的
解说：sed=sit+-ate形容词后缀→总坐着→一动不动→安静的
用法：betty is a sedate girl. 贝蒂是个恬静的姑娘。
sedan n.轿子，轿车
解说：sed=sit+-an名词后缀→外出时坐的交通工具→轿车
supersede vt.代替, 取代
解说：super-=upper表超+sed=sit+e→超越对方坐上去→代替
用法：the new supersedes the old. 新陈代谢。

preside v.主持
解说：pre-=front表“前边”前缀+sid=sit+e→(开会)坐在前边→主持
