②辨析base和basis
这两者都有“基础”的意思，但意义不同。base主要指物质，而basis指的是非常重要且能发展的东西。

basement是base的名词形式：base+ment（名词后缀）。但一定要注意basement的意思，因为它和base有比较大的差别。basement指的是建筑物最下面的部分，一部分或全部在地面之下。

fight a battle 交战   gain/lose a battle 打胜战/败仗
②辨析battle，war和campaine
battle指一场战争或一次战役中的具体战斗，可持续数小时或若干天；war是包括一系列战役的整个战斗过程；campaingn的规模和时间都介于battle和war中间，指在一场战争中，为达到一个宏大的目的而采取的一系列的军事举措。
